Bettie (Johnson)Miller
14809 49th St. N.
Stillwater, MN. 55082 |
I graduated from St. Cloud State University
in 1967 with a degree in elementary education. I
taught in the Robbinsdale School District for one
year and then in the Stillwater School District
for two years.
I stayed home with our children for ten years and
then did substitute teaching for seven years
until 1987 when I got a job teaching sixth grade
at Lake Elmo Elementary. I am finishing my
sixteenth year there and I really love teaching.
In 1967, I married Larry "Sam" Miller.
We have lived in Stillwater since 1968.
We have two children. Julie is 33 and lives in
Stillwater with her husband, Jason. They have a
son, Mark, who is three and Erick who was born
this June 16th.. Julie is a kindergarten teacher
in Stillwater.
Our Son Thomas, lives in New York City with his
wife, Maura. They met at the University of Notre
Dame and were married on Long Island. Thomas was
working in the South Tower of the WTC on 9/11,
and Maura was at the Financial Center across the
street. Miraculously, they both got out safely
and met by chance on the street. We are thankful
every day for their safety on that terrible day.
Sam and I love to camp, canoe, mountain hike, and
travel. We will be in Alaska in July for two
weeks on a land tour and a cruise. Unfortunately,
we will be gone for the class reunion. I will
miss seeing all of you!
I have many wonderful memories of growing up in
Rush City. I wish you all peace and happiness. |
