Gary Behrendt Gary Behrendt
RR #2 Box 79
Rush City, MN. 55069

Gary was born in Rush City on June 29th, 1943 to William Clifford and Della Evelyn Behrendt. He lived in Rush City his entire 71 years of life. He married Myra "Joan" Mallinger in 1964 and had two children. David Lee was born in 1965 and Jody Lynn was born in 1969. The family resided on a farm near Rush City until 1996. At that time, they moved their house to the Lind Home Farm.

Gary was a member of the Jasper Masonic Lodge # 64, Shriner's International, Rush City Jaycees, and the East Central Shrine Club. His favorite past time was farming with his brother Butch and his shadow, David. He enjoyed camping and fishing with his brothers-in-law, Joe and Roland. In retirement, he loved to do carpentry work, spend time with the grandchildren and visit with friends. Gary was known as a loyal man that would do anything to help family or a friend; all you had to do was ask.

Gary worked construction until 1966, when he was hired at United Parcel Service. Gary enjoyed working at UPS for 31 years and was a member of teamsters Local #638.

Gary passed away at his home on April 4, 2015 after spending the day with his grandchildren coloring Easter eggs and enjoying his favorite meal. He was an incredible man and the best grandfather anyone could ask for. He was truly a blessing to this world and is missed by all who knew and love him.
